Wilfred doesn't go with our surname really, but I LOVE it... Thoughts?

Truly awful- Wilfred that is.
Not keen on Arthur.
I like Reuben though.

I like them all, Arthur is a bit too trendy for me at the moment though.
Wilfred is quite sweet.
Reuben is my favourite, strong and classic.

I like Wilfred, especially Wilf for a nickname.

I've got an Arthur and obviously think its a lovely name.

Have had lots of positive comments from all sorts of people.

I like all three. I know a 2 year old Wilfred who goes by Wilf and it really suits him, I think it will be quite cool when he's bigger! Also know a 3 year old Reuben, but I've seen all sorts of mis-spellings from mutual friends which could be annoying.

In order:
Reuben
Wilfred

Arthur, but I like Artur (Polish)

Arthur was originally our first choice (it was my great-grandfather's name). Is it very trendy these days? I have never met a child/baby Arthur...

I love Wilf, but our surname begins with F, so it may not work...

Not keen on Wilfred
Know a couple of children called Arthur - it hasn't really grown on me yet
Like Reuben. DS has one in his class at school. Not sure how you could misspell it Confused

Reuben. It's a great name.

Wilfred is a bit silly. Like you want William but are trying to be different. There's something a bit goofy about it.

Arthur is one of those terribly urbane-chic old man chic names that is so self-conscious it's nearly choking itself.

I know 3 baby Wilfs so in my head, it's very popular.

Arthur is very nice. I don't tend to go for biblical names so Reuben isn't to my taste.

littlemisslozza · 20/10/2010 18:43

Misspellings are Rueben and Ruben (although I think this is actually a valid spelling).

I like Wilfred and Arthur the best.
Wilf was on our list for both sons and DS2 ended up being Arthur - a name we both liked very much and also a family name. (Although apparently it is for other much more exciting reasons according to Valiumskeleton so thanks for the analysis!)

Im considering Arthur too as its DHs grandfathers name - didn't realise it had become so popular!

I think wilfred rocks!

Mitchymum · 28/10/2010 22:48

Reuben is the best

ooh, these are all very nice, would find it hard to chose between them. wilfred sounds the most unusual to my ears, but the nn Will not so good. hmmm. If I had to vote, I'd go for wilfred because it's the most original, but I've got a bit of a soft spot for Arthus too. What about Rufus?

smother · 28/10/2010 23:01

Arthus! sorry, invented a new name here.
