Due at Christmas time so would like a Christmassy name. Don't know the sex yet so both for boy and girl. Any ideas?

All i have so far is Noel / Noelle...

I wouldn't, personally. So everyone with say 'Noel... so you're a Christmas baby then, oh that must be easy to remember/bad for presents.....'

I like Nicholas.

wahwahwah - know what you mean, but wouldn't use it as a first name, just a middle name.

Erin was due xmas day and I was the opposite, avoiding christmassy names .

When looking through a baby names book, I had never known that Natalie means 'born at christmas'.

Robin/Robyn

I think you need to go cryptic if you don't want to look cheesy - Holly, Noel etc. are very obviously Christmassy.

Robin/Robyn
Claus
Balthazar (or one of the other wise men)
Cliff (Mr Richards has lots of Christmassy songs)
Jesus
Belle
Angel
Gabriel
Eve
Star
Carol
Golde (German name?)

Thanks for the suggestions. I had considered Natalie and Robin but OH doesn't like them.

I did laugh at Cliff! Can you imagine!! And Carol? (sorry don't want to offend anyone, but are there any Carols below the age of 40?)

I love Eve - but know lots of little Evies.

Thanks for the suggestion of Belle. I think that would make a lovely middle name - would need a longish first name though.

chained I do like the idea of a christmassy name - just also made myself chuckle with the reindeer names and thought I might as well share the joke

FWIW I did have to look them up on Wikipedia as I couldn't actually remember how the song went

My aunt (aged 65) is called Carol... I've always liked the name and am considering Caroline (shortened to Carol/Caro) for the DC I'm currently pregnant with... Your reaction suggests it's not common and therefore due a revival.... Will it be the 'Granny name' everyone uses in 15 years time....

Also, day after Christmas is not called boxing day in Ireland it's called St Stephen's day (as in Good King Wencesles looked out on the feast of..) so how about Stephen or Stephanie?

Noeleen for a girl? Bit dated in Ireland but haven't heard it much over here.

I like Natalie, but unfortunately, living in the North East, there's be a lot of "Nat-lie" pronunciation, which is just awful. If I lived somewhere else, I'd use it. It's lovely. Also not too obviously Christmassy, which I think is naff. Subtly Christmassy is best I think, so on that basisI would avoid Holly and Noel / Noelle.

Gabriel is nice. Could also do Gabrielle for a girl.
