I had the BT one. It lasted about 2 years might have been dropped a few times You can get basic ones or one that plays music too...

Bt ones are far the best. We have used one for 4 years as ds has special needs and we rely on it. Some of the Motorola ones only switch on when there's an actual sound but I prefer them to be "on on" all the time if you see what I mean so I can hear all the little noises - bt ones do this really well. Very clear.

The BT ones are very good. I have been using the same one for nearly 6 years and it was secondhand to begin with! On holiday in a big house with various other families and different (and new and swanky video and audio) monitors my old BT one had the best reception of the lot which surprised me.

I've got the most basic bt one. It's fine, we've had a couple before. Eventually they just stop charging and pack up. We also have a tommee tippee one which is ok too. We don't use the songs on them (actually not sure our models have them) but do use them as intercoms with the older kids, which is useful. No problems with range with either of them. Our house has 3 floors and a 60 ft garden (not a boast! Just to give an idea of range).

Have you got an Android phone and an old one spare? Dormi is an app, it's amazing and it's a fiver. Works on WiFi and also mobile (so I sometimes listen in at work if km missing him!)

The BT BM450 is a good one for Audio baby monitor. Very reliable and it allows you to speak to your baby while not in the room.
