7/8 years ago I had a massive trauma, resulting in a near breakdown, ptsd and periods stopped dead and lots more symptoms, I think it trigged CFS/ME, I’ve been pushing for diagnosis of either cfs or Me for 7 years all the while getting worse and worse. Dr doesn’t seem interested it’s because of my weight, go on a diet etc etc Been talking to others on a forum about going private, but how do you find the energy to deal with everything and go to appts etc. All I want/need to do is curl up in bed. Finally got gp to do blood test and my results came back with low vit b 12 levels so I’m having b12 injections x5 and folic acid. Will this cure me? Has anyone else had the same treatment? I just want to feel normal again. Tia

I was in almost the same boat as you.

Check out the NICE guidelines.
It was a locum that diagnosed me as the GP was reluctant, probably because the diagnosis is symptom based rather than physical evidence based.

Acupuncture helped me greatly. Private at £50 a go.
As did stopping eating a bunch of pizzas and cakes and other crap. I have much more energy from eating lean meat and salad than I ever had from deep fried pizza from the chippie.

The b12 jags, iron and folic acid I am on does help. But I think it’s more the acupuncture and nutrition that helps me the most.

I can now work part time. A day I never thought would come when I was at my worst as I thought I would never leave the house again.

Good luck. I hope you find something that works for you.

I have b12 deficiency (Crohn's). The normal NHS is every 12 weeks after your loading dose however I was so exhausted by the time I got to the 12 weeks that it wasn't making much difference. Got switched to 8 week cycles and fab now.

I've been on B12 injections for a year and they've not made a jot of difference to my energy levels. I'm trying to muster up the energy to go and see my GP about it. Not holding out much hope though, I've asked for 8 weeks intervals before and he said no. I hate begging Sad but I don't think he will listen if I don't.
