Hi guys, So this week I got my watercolours out again and painted another abstract flower, this ones a 'Daffodil'. What do you think of this one? I felt I messed up the 'bell' of the flower a little.. do you like it?

Hope you're enjoying your fathers day x

(PS -In case anybody complains.. I feel like posting on these forums gives me the confidence to either sell/not sell a new painting.. hence why i'm pretty active on this forum.. the constructive advice really helps me out! so thank-you )

Can I tell you, I generally hate this kind of stuff (not a fan of water colours, don't like pictures of flowers) but I really like yours. It has a certain something to it, I don't know what

Thankyou!! I'm so glad! smile

wow! well that makes it even more of a compliment! Big thank you from me! it's nice to know you find it has a 'certain something'. I'm really happy to hear you're a fan! .. so maybe i've changed your mind about not liking watercolours? wink

That's lovely, really like the colours and shape of the flower. Well done you!

Inkinfusions Sun 17-Jun-18 19:53:09

Thankyou for your kind words.. I was pleased with the shape of the flower too, I love it when watercolours make shapes and the colours merge naturally. x

I have this one in my hall

Sunflowersforever Sun 17-Jun-18 19:56:33

Bought it years ago. Are yours for sale?

Inkinfusions Sun 17-Jun-18 20:07:42

That is beautiful! I have actually painted a sunflower myself too, I love your one though! I private messaged you x

Inkinfusions Sun 17-Jun-18 20:09:12

This is my take on a sunflower... what do you think??

Sunflowersforever Sun 17-Jun-18 20:17:22

That's beautiful.

I've bought your picture!

You're not charging enough. My sunflower cost £50 and that was about 15 years ago.

Sunflowersforever Sun 17-Jun-18 20:18:26

Actually, was 10 years ago. Thought it was before my daughter was born, but apparently not.

I really like them too!

It is that certain something they have as someone upthread said.

Do you sell? I would love a daffodil painting to go in my daffodil bedroom. Been keeping an eye out for ages.

Inkinfusions Sun 17-Jun-18 20:39:22

Thankyou so much, it's lovely that you find them unique.
The encouraging comments on this thread have filled me with much confidence! x

A daffodil bedroom.. that sounds amazing! I like the sound of that! is it all yellow themed? PM'd you x

I love them. They really do have something about them. It’s the way you’re able to work with bright, strong colours - you’re able to blend them beautifully but they still retain their individuality and contrast. Very stark but pleasant to look at.

Inkinfusions Sun 17-Jun-18 20:48:17

Thank-you so much! I love working with bright colours, I am so pleased that you feel that they are blended beautifully. Watercolour is such a fun medium to work with..Hearing lovely comments such as this makes painting even more worthwhile and fulfilling. x

Would love to see your "take" on my pets! You very much do an impression rather than a reproduction which is what I love.

Inkinfusions Sun 17-Jun-18 20:58:40

I do paint pet portraits! Here are some examples! Thankyou!!

HouseOfLynx Sun 17-Jun-18 21:51:16

Please PM me too!

Please could you pm me; I’m considering some pet portraits and those are really fun.
