Art and craft supplies for parties

I am planning dd birthday party and I want to start with an art and craft activity to deal with that first half hour or so when kids are arriving and settling and to fill in time before entertainer starts.

DD is having a prince and princess party (again!!) so I thought we could make crowns as it would be suitable for either girls or boys. There will be 30 children.

I have looked on the kidscrafts website and they are charging £1.95 for crown kits so that would be almost £60. I don't mind cutting out templates and sourcing my own supplies, who would be the cheapest for gold/silver thin card and pompom/ feathers/ sequins for 30 crowns.

Dp is laughing about this at work - even birthday parties have to be planned with military precision!

this site has some good art and raft activities. Has some good crowns, not gold but a lot cheaper.

Like the idea of decorating a party bag as well.

By lots I probably mean about 300 , about ten feathers per child.

What size are your cutouts charlie cat, they could colour them in/ decorate them and attach to party bag.

I may not need to pay for an entertainer at this rate!
