I'd say it depends on the family/child. My DS would have loved one, in fact at 7 he would probably still love one grin

You could make it in darker colours?

I knitted a very jolly snake scarf for my 5yo nephew. he wore it 24/7 for a week.grin

DS1 has a big furry orange snake which he absolutely loves.... he chose it himself mind, and orange is his favourite colour by a long way. Can you find out your nephew's favourite colour and use that in the knitting? He loves the fact that he can wrap it round himself, that it can be pretend scary if he so wishes, and that even DS2 (15mo) can do the hiss. So an all round winner - hope your nephew loves it!

Oh yes, I would say so. Ds2 (just 4) is currently enthralled with a long dragony-snake thing and dd and ds1 are having a lot of fun with it too. Sounds like a lovely gift smile.

My ds would love it and it would be extra special for him if it had a silky bit somehwhere maybe a ribbon or something.
Do you want to make him one grin
