How can I make my own eyelet curtains?

I want to make my own curtains but want to make them with eyelets. Is there a special tool I would need to make the eyelets and where could I get it from?

Thanks.

No you don't need a special tool.

The easiest way is to buy the heading tape like this.

You sew it onto the back of your curtain at the top, draw round the circles then cut out the fabric within them, push the jupiter clip through from the front, clip on the back and Voila!!

You do need to make sure you have enough material

Ah thank you dizzyday07. Now I understand how it works. I'm looking forward to making them now, just need to find some fabric.

You can buy these. I looked at some in Dunelm Mill. I needed two sets of ten but they were about £8 each. By the time I'd bought the fabric it was too much. Ready made curtains easier and much cheaper.

I've just started making curtains with the aim of starting a business in 2017, I got a machine from bodill-parker.co.uk/ and they also sell small amounts of eyelets if you just need a few
