Anyone ever repaired a (large) chip in a pottery bowl?

FFS, it's only day 4 of the holidays and ds1 has managed to knock my favourite wobbleware jug from the dresser, smashing it to smithereens and knocking a great big chip out of a burleigh bowl on the way down
Has anyone ever tried to repair a chip? I've googled and found an epoxy resin/chalk technique but I think the chip might be too large for that. Any ideas?

My only experience was mending a sink that a falling perfume bottle knocked a chunk out of!!

I used superglue type adhesive mixed with a little talcum powder for you couldn't see the join

milliput would do the job - it is a two-part putty that you mix together and then you can use it to model or repair many different things - it can be sanded when dry and painted if required. It comes in different colours and grades.
