Have Telewest coming around to upgrade to broadband! Don't know how it will effect viewing, I think they need to run a new cable from our box! Don't think I'll be seeing much of it.
I don't ususally order, but I do like to have a notepad at the ready for ideas and tips.

Hi everyone! If it's of any help I live and work about 5 minutes either side of Dawn's shop in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire and am a regular visitor (far more regular than dh ever needs to know ..quickly hides receipts!)
Anyway, all I was thinking is that sometimes the stuff on QVC comes in huge packs when you sometimes only need a few of each item, plus the P&P on there is ridiculous.
So if anyone sees anything that they fancy and can't get at their normal craft shop you could always CAT me and I could arrange to get some things for you if I can and post them on (My P&P is far more reasonable...and I don't charge per item!!!)
Anyway, bear it in mind and happy viewing (and videoing...yes, I do that as well! )

Ooh - where in Oswaldtwistle is the shop MandM? In the area for hols this year and usually end up at the 'mills' at least once during the week. Quite fancy visiting Dawn's shop.

OK - scratch that question. On googling I now realise her shop is within the mill. Must have been in there before now and just not realised it was Dawn's place.

SaintGeorge

Just posted a really long winded description of the shop in the mills on the thread above this one in arts and Crafts - HTH
Where are you going for your hols? I want to get away from here for mine..lol!

MandM - nowhere ultra exciting. DH has access to a free caravan (through work) at Longridge so we usually end up in the area for a few days every year. The Mills are great for the 'rainy day, 2 kids, what the hell do we do now' scenario but I always end up spending a fortune. Then again, on the sunny days we end up in Blackpool and that costs just as much.

Oohh Longridge is beautiful! If you've been there before you've probably visited all there is to see already but Ribchester, Edisford Bridge and Clitheroe are all well worth visiting on the 'sunny' days (we get one up here each leap year!!!...snowing at the moment!) There is a new little craft shop in Clitheroe which is quite good and a lovely place to eat called The Emporium.

Sorry, only just seen your reply

Yes, we have visited before (at least once a year since 1998!) but we are discovering new places to visit all the time. We first went when DS1 was a baby - now he is 7 and DS2 is 3, so we have to keep up with what they like to see.

We stay at Beacon Fell - do you know it?

SaintGeorge - yes I have been to Beacon Fell a few times it's really nice, especially for walking etc when the weather's nice! Botany Bay might be quite a good place for you to visit as a family. They have a website which tells you a lot more about it.

I wish I had read this board at home yesterday intead of waiting until coming into work this morning. I waited up until midnight last night for the TSV, all excited and plannign on actually buying something from QVC instead of just watching and what the hell did it turn out to be......a **ing Dymo machine!!!!!!!!!! Grrrrr!

But then you clever people already knew that and were tucked up in bed whilst stupid me got mega-disappointed and now too big black bags under my eyes!!!

Am desperate to get out of work than I dash home and watch an hour of it on my exercise bike before I go and pick DD up from the childminders (DON'T tell the childminder!)
Burn calories, pick up excellent hints and tips, and save money because I can't reach the phone from the bike and wouldn't have enough air in my lungs to speak even if I could!!!!!!!!
