I know people do this for a hobby but what do you do with them all?
I am thinking of taking up card making but dont want it to be a waste and would like to do something with them other than doing it for pleasure

sell them or make them for pleasure in advance of knowing who you are going to give them to. for example, I know what occasions I have coming up and plan on doing them for those people and events.

isn't it just. I have been mumsnetting since about November last year. Got so much help and advice. You ought to get yourself on a localmeet up. Where do you live?

try again now it is more busy at this time. I can start one for you if you like. I did that for Juicychops earlier in the week as she had no response to her first thread and she has arranged a meet up already - dartford area - thread is currently at 34 - not bad eh?

One of the other crafters here held a card party....she made a supply of cards....invited friends around and just let them have a look at her works of art....she sold loads to friends.
Im going to do the same thing....I also sell mine to two shops and my sister buys them of me to sell in her waiting room at her dental practice.

wendy33,
I have just looked at the meet up archives and can't find one from you on there. Did you put it on the meet up section? There seems to be a few people from your area as a meet up was held in January.

Hi guys,

Just a quick tip. I bought a scanner for EURO 100 (about£60) and it was the best investment ever for scanning in cards. It takes much better pics than using a digital camera, and is far less messy. I'd highly recommend it. I even had a professional take photos at one stage, but the scanner is better!

We're winding down our card business now and getting into craft supplies instead, but we did get a fair few orders online. It's hard initially to find a credit card processing vendor that don't need a business bank account - but paypal etc. works fine. We got the occasional big order from the USA as we were Irish, which worked well for us. I think the market is growing for independent card makers...

Just my two cents.

ais.
