Am I weird?

It's sooo nice. It's really expensive though.

here you go

I'm trying to work out of you could make one that shape.

WeeBesom Wed 24-Sep-08 15:31:42

Really? Not my cup of tea but whatever floats your boat!

southeastastra Wed 24-Sep-08 15:32:39

yes you are weird grin, is it for a snooker table type thing?

Pushpinia Wed 24-Sep-08 16:26:50

No it's just for the living room. Standard lamp. smile

There must be lampshade makers here. Or am I on the wrong website? grin

FabioVicePeeperPlopper Wed 24-Sep-08 16:28:04

It reminds me of Moulin Rouge. The film. The elephant Nicole Kidman lives in.

MaryAnnSingleton Wed 24-Sep-08 16:29:03

bordello chic

Pushpinia Wed 24-Sep-08 16:33:17

I know, it's so pretty...

I was only looking for some wall lights to replace the hideous ones we have at the moment, and this was there looking at me.

I think you can buy frames can't you? Then the material is something you can play around with I suppose. I once knitted a lampshade.

Sorry am prob a freak! smile

MrPinkerton Wed 24-Sep-08 16:34:10

I have to keep looking at it to check it's real.

look at the 'normal' price!

Pushpinia Wed 24-Sep-08 16:36:36

Yes I would have to sell one of my children.

<ponders which one>

CountessDracula Wed 24-Sep-08 16:37:41

I'm sorry that is hideous

Pushpinia Wed 24-Sep-08 16:38:50

<sticks tongue out>

CountessDracula Wed 24-Sep-08 16:39:19

i am interested in the rest of your decor now

Pushpinia Wed 24-Sep-08 16:40:51

Ha! You would tear me to pieces grin

Desk is on profile, that's all you're getting for now...

GentleOtter Wed 24-Sep-08 16:42:10

You can get the frames here

Oh, everyone is being mean to you Pushpinia....I have an identical one but it is really ancient and probably cost one shilling or something.grin

snowleopard Wed 24-Sep-08 16:43:15

Ouch, my eyes! It's foul.

To make it though, you could look for a cheap lampshade (from ikea, matalan etc for a few quid) that's a similar shape, take off the fabric and sew your own fabric cover in those colours. I bet you could get suitable fabrics and tasselly bits from John Lewis - look in the upholstery sections as well as dress fabrics. Wouldn't be expensive.

FabioVicePeeperPlopper Wed 24-Sep-08 16:43:23

Ah pushpinia
I see youre going for a look called 'Urban Clutter'

<runs>

MrPinkerton Wed 24-Sep-08 16:46:12

I wouldn't buy it Push...But I'd probably get excited over an equally hideous 'vintage' type lamp shade.

Good for you for kicking the beige trend. I bet you got gold walls and purple curtains haven't you.

Pushpinia Wed 24-Sep-08 16:46:29

envy Gentleotter - I bet it is gorgeous smile

Thanks for the linky, wow I like the weirdy shapes on the 'new' tab.

I'm glad you don't think I'm insane.

<sprays Fabio with lemon scented stuff>

Ha! take that fluffy!

Pushpinia Wed 24-Sep-08 16:47:45

MrPinkerton are you a man, I have seen you around today...hmmgrin

The goldy colour on the walls is a tester, it's vile actually so we are having 'pale walnut'.

<preens>

But yes, the curtains, ahem...how did you know?

bundle Wed 24-Sep-08 16:49:09

yuk

Turniphead1 Wed 24-Sep-08 16:49:45

Oh my Lord. Is that a joke? Well I guess it would be a boring world if we all like the same thing. But reminds me of something you'd see in a pub.

I love Victoriana, but would go for a lovely chandelier or pewter metal lamp than that.

MrPinkerton Wed 24-Sep-08 16:53:29

I once tried to paint walls 'old' gold. Was pregnant - mitigator. Total disaster.

Am all woman but in touch with my masculine side.

MerlinsBeard Wed 24-Sep-08 16:54:06

owww my eyes!!!!!!!!!!

bundle Wed 24-Sep-08 16:56:51

tis like something from a tart's boudoir

Pushpinia Wed 24-Sep-08 16:57:30

I like the ones in pubs, over snooker tables...

told you I was a freak smile

MrPinkerton I am sorry for the gender confusion

Yes Old Gold does not sound far from this nasty yellow we have patches of atm.
