I love cross stitch

BUT

I don't do it (much) any more becasue

a) I never know what to do with my finished peices and they end up folded up in a sewing bag from here to eternity
b) I found MN and don't leave myself the time to do it, but it doesn't bother me much because of a)

I have ÂŁ100's & ÂŁ100's of completed, half completed and unstarted pieces upstairs .

Me too, me too! I did loads at one time, but then i had a baby! I know that's when I stopped because i've got a half done baby sampler that I started when I was pg. 12 years ago!

Aadly it has just demoralised me a bit over the years.

I love doing it
I love the pride of seeing a completed piece, but it is a waste for them to sit in the bottom of the wardrobe.

OTOH I guess it is a waste to have a large number of unopened kits waiting to be done.

I used to design my own, but haven't done so for a couple of years now. Not enough time, plus my knitting has taken over!

I am doing a Christmas stocking which I get out intermittenly every now and then which would have a 'use'. It is about 3/4 finished.

I am actually looking for a nice bright chirpy Father Christmas - because
I would do it
I would get it framed
and
I would put it up with the decs

Actually, I have done one piece since I had DD. I made her an Advent Calendar in 1998, which has little matchboxes hanging on each numbered square. Tis beautiful and I am proud every year of it!

I used to do huge pieces (before dd), but now i just do little ones to put on front of cards

I do cross stitch. Just completed the Welsh Flag, which is hanging proudly on my wall in a frame.

Took months to do that though

I love it, did a load of Christmas fairy cards - they were cute not pukey - iyswim.
I'm currently making a little red tractor for my tractor mad son and a Margaret Sherry cat card for my sister.
I subscribe to Cross Stitch Crazy which has some fab patterns in it. Have you had a look at the crossstitchuk website, there's some good stuff on there.
