I've just started making my own natural cosmetics and moisturisers with cocoa butter and essential oils etc. It's great fun and I've been really pleased with the results so far. Wondered if anyone else does it and would like to share tips and ideas!!

We keep bees and it all started with reading an article about making lipbalm with left over beeswax. To do this I needed some sweet almond oil and containers - googled and found a site called 'aromantics' who sell everything you need + recipes. Anyway I got a bit carried away and ordered lots of stuff. So far I've just been making tiny quantities and experimenting - hence the need for tips and ideas!
Then Channel 4 did a programme all about the nasties in cosmetics and that made me even more keen not to use them. I've done a fair bit of research now and there are lots of useful websites www.live-natural.co.uk/page8.htm. The worst ones are the parabens, which are preservatives, and it is very hard to find products without them - even if they say 'natural' on the label. Sodium lauryl sulfate also not good!
