I'm a rubbish draw-er and so I've never gien my kids much encouragement or useful help. But my son and I have just had a fabulous time following step-by-step instructions onhow to draw squirrels, rats, dogs, birds, and produced some quite proud-making results.

Anyone else used this pullout?

Unfortunately I now need a 'how to write' pullout. Title should have said 'is really mint'

Miaou Tue 21-Aug-07 14:46:17

What does mint mean? Good, I presume??

(glad you enjoyed it though )

SixKindsofCrisis Tue 21-Aug-07 14:51:42

'Mint' is playground-speak for 'cool'. Perhaps it's only in north east? Thought it was universal.

yes we loved it here!!!!!

Miaou Tue 21-Aug-07 15:03:15

The most recent Observer. Hidden in the middle of the television pullout (even the pullouts have pullouts). It's really good. Gave ds2 loads of confidence (and me)

There was one in the Saturday Guardian and one in the Sunday Observer. They were excellent. My dog did look like she was wearing jeans for some reason, but her face was very convincing, I felt. And my sons drew brilliant lions and tigers. I may go and hunt them out again if the play fight going on behind me gets out of hand.

The Guardian had one on saturday and it was fab, my 6 year old really enjoys it.

CountessDracula Tue 21-Aug-07 15:16:45

it was great

My cat was crap tho, dh did a brilliant eagle

SixKindsofCrisis Tue 21-Aug-07 15:17:19

Oh I misssed the saturday one Lions and tigers!! Ds2 would have loved that.

stealthsquiggle Tue 21-Aug-07 15:17:20

ooh - DM told me this morning she has been collecting these for DS. What age are they aimed at? I am a bit concerned he will be aiming for perfection (as usual) and get frustrated...

SixKindsofCrisis Tue 21-Aug-07 15:19:14

Any age I think -- maybe 5ish as a minimum??
My older son is like that: if it is not perfent is is worthless rubbish. So hard on himself. But ds2 is way more easygoing.

thomcat Tue 21-Aug-07 15:19:25

oh I want them, I love drawing for girls to colour in but am rubbish at it.

stealthsquiggle Tue 21-Aug-07 15:30:18

Thanks, crisis - DS is 5ish (nearly 5) and very good at drawing for his age (biased, me?! ) but he is such a perfectionist - maybe I will let my DM try it with him at their house and let her deal with the drama if he can't do it to his own satisfaction

NotADragonOfSoup Wed 22-Aug-07 09:47:36

Oh, these sound fab. Missed them though!

lilibet Wed 22-Aug-07 09:50:46
