What do you think - Braiding ?

I have been playing with wool & ribbons today two test pieces!
Its Japanese braiding or Kumihimo & I thought of incorporating beads into it for necklaces / bracelets.

WHat do you think ? Too hairy / tickly

Bracelets would be good, they're very pretty, I think maybe necklaces may be a tickly. It would depend on the wool, you could have a tinker with the ribbons and beads on necklaces. They are pretty tho' and the rest of your stuff is amazing.

They remind me of the caterpillar dd2 found on the lid of our composter bin this afternoon

oooh, pretty. I have seen bracelets like this with beads on and they look lovely. My friend wears one all the time, it is like a big long string and is wrapped around her wrist quite a few times. Is it difficult to do?

I'm not sure whether to put beads into the braid or just use them to hang things off ??

I think beads in the braid, like pearls (but cheaper coz then it'd cost you a fortune to make!!!, lol!)

there are a few beads threaded onto the wool on the bottom one, but you can't see them as the ribbon is too thick really.
I'm after some thick chunky wool next

Whizz, are you talking proper 100% wool?

Whizzz · 10/08/2007 19:51

More like the beige at the bottom here or the stuff that you can buy and dye if you want to second one down
