I need significant dress making help? Anyone bored of football?

Fellow stitchers - I have a problem - I am upcycling an evening dress into an evening skirt - but I am having problems with the volume of material (my daughter has a 25 inch waist and 37 inch hips and the dress doesn't) and coming up with an idea for a fastening (can probably use a zip but wanted not to)

At the backk there is a sort of pleat which the top/outer bit is showing - if I put a zip underneath in the seam how do I close the top layers?

The front looks apalling and I can't work out which seam to take in or how far down the skirt?

& I am sort of blocked

I’ve got not chuffing idea (sorry) but I love the colour. Can you do pleats at the back - like a kilt?

It is an amazing colour - I got two dresses in the same colour at the same charity shop & I am halfway through a latin dress too - the hope is that this will sit under it
