How do you store your embroidery threads? Looking for good storage or can I make one?

I wrap mine around clothespins and write the number on them. They go into large mason jars and then I sit and admire them because they make me happy.

If I’m working on a specific project, I’ll take those ones out and put them in a small cosmetic bag wherever I’m working.

I tend to use DMC thread and use their storage system which makes life way easier.

Mine are all wrapped around cardboard bobbins with the number written on them. They currently live all jumbled up together in a big plastic tub but I want to get one of those plastic boxes that you can stack the bobbins in so you can always see the number.

I use DMC Stitchbows but I don't bother with their plastic wallet system I just have them in a really useful storage drawer.

Mine are on clothespegs & in a box (they used to look beautiful in a jar on my desk but it took me forever to get one from the bottom!).

Mine are stored in a big box on plastic bobbins and labelled. Then my current project ones are stored in a smaller one.

Kismett that sounds lovely, I think I'll steal that idea Smile

In a big (?24chocs) Ferraro richer box. Still in DMC skeins.

Stefoscope · 08/06/2018 09:46

I use floss-a-way (plastic ziplock bags on a metal ring) inexpensive and the bags are stronger than I was expecting. I like that you can just put the skeins straight into the bags and don't have to spend time winding bobbins. For projects, I usually make thread holders from cereal box cardboard with holes punched in.
