Hi I'm a bit of a lurker, do a little bit of scrapbooking and make cards. Have also done some beadwork and cross stitch.
Anyway has just started a watercolour class. Have been given advice on brushes paints etc.
My question is how many pans of watercolour should I go for. We were advised to buy student quality to start with and I notice it comes on sets of 8, 12, 14, and 24. can prob get bigger sets but wouldn't think you'd need that many as supposed to mix.
Also was there any colours not in basic set worth getting to add to it.
Not sure if anyone paints but if you dO any advice and tips welcome.
I also hope to use the paints to colour in stamped images.
thanks

hello, I just saw this.. I use watercolours & wouldn't bother getting very many to start with, if you have red, blue & yellow you can mix most things from them, & if you get really into it you will want to buy artists quality paints which have much stronger pigments.
then again student quality ones can be v cheap so no harm experimenting.
some tutors will be into mixing your own colours, others prefer to have lots..
hope that helps a bit.
