In theory I keep it in a big 7l storage box - except that is now full, so there is some in a bag for life on the sofa, down the side of the sofa, in the hall, under some books... You get the picture! Grin

It currently lives in the gap behind the sofa/under stairs but. In about 74 bags. And the BadPuppy keeps steeling balls and tangling them up which makes me sad.

I think I'd like it all in neat sorted boxes. Chunky. Less chunky. DK. Nice DK. Cotton. Thin. Thick. Etc etc.

Numerous plastic boxes.

Plus I have a tower of plastic drawers which is supposedly organised by colour.

My works in progress are sort of piled up in big bag for life type things.

Its a mess and I have too much yarnBlush

I've got on of those shoe pocket things. It hangs up on a hook on the back of a door.
I think it was from ikea

Mine is in three IKEA cardboard drawers which fit neatly on top of DD's wardrobe. The overflow is hidden in various cupboards. I'm gradually using it up knitting hats, blankets etc for charity and toys for friends babies but I can't resist buying more.

In our old house I used to have The Wooldrobe [wistful sigh]... there was a little closet in the hall that I took over.

Current place, it's all shoved into random cupboards in the living room. With the candles, and random books.

Other than the wooldrobe solution, my best method was plastic drawers and various filing boxes from Ikea, stacked under the stairs.

I asked DH for some IKEA Kallax storage for my birthday. He bought it and assembled it with little DS and I have now stashed my stash in it. He also bought magazine boxes for all my patterns. I keep opening the door to the under stairs cupboard to see how pretty (and tidy) it all is.

A large wooden chest thing which we inherited from the inlaws. Best thing is that it is not transparent so people can't see when I acquire more stash.

I don't have that much yarn, sadly. Just wondering if one of those toy hanging things would work? Available cheaply from IKEA you could fit quite a lot in each compartment....

A plastic Bentalls bag. I've got so many half used balls that I'm knitting 'paper' chains for parties.

I bought a lovely China cabinet and keep all my stylecraft in there because I use that the most, and I love looking at all the lovely colours rammed nicely stacked in there. But I have bags and bags of the stuff in various cupboards, behind the sofa, under the bed......

Confession time.

I have 2 large wicker containers in the corner of my living room that were purpose bought for storing yarn.

That's not the confession - I also have yarn stored in the pouffe, in one side of the sideboard, in 2 "bags for life" in my wardrobe along with 8 balls of aran which are currently hanging under my winter coat in a bag in the porch!!! not really hidden from OH at all

I also have numerous WIPs - 1 scarf, one waffle stitch knee blanket, 1 stripey blanket and 80 small solid granny squares which need bordering and then joining for the woolly hugs!!!!

I will control my hoard.

I don't think this is possible. It takes on a critical mass so quickly. I have boxes of stuff ready to put on eBay which laugh at me when I go in the room. You know, the room they have to themselves.
