Knitting needles for charity?

Just wondered whether anyone knew of any charities here in the UK or abroad that could use knitting needles and crochet hooks? I've got lots of needles, mainly fairly cheap bamboo DPN sets and circular needles, and before I just take them to the charity shop (which always seems to have them coming out of their ears) I thought I'd check if anyone knew of any orgs that could use them. I've found some Google links but they are all a bit out of date. Thanks!

Could you offer them to a local school - I run a crochet club and often end up paying for hooks myself and giving them to the children.
If someone is running something similar I'm sure they'd be delighted to have them donated.

Thanks - that's a good idea.
