best doll to sew clothes for?

My dd will be 4 in July and starting reception in September. I would love to get her a large (18inch +) doll which I could then sew/knit a school uniform for in her school colours. Does anybody have any recommendations for a doll and sewing patterns to fit?

I had the pleasure of sewing for a Gotz Hannah.

I just used one of the 18" Simplicity patterns. I bought just one multi pattern with trousers, a dress, coat, top, etc., etc.. and then just adapted the basic pattern to whatever I wanted to sew.

Those dolls are lovely! I'd need to save up looking at amazon though. DD has blonde hair and brown eyes, I'm now looking for one that she will recognise as looking like her! Will look at the simplicity patterns too, thank you Smile

I got a new sewing machine for Christmas and I'm all excited for a project to get started on!
