Patterns needed for hat and scarf

My sister wants a circular scarf and a beany hat for xmas. I said I would make them for her. I have some nice boucle wool in a raspberry colour. Does anyone have simple patterns for these, preferably crochet but can do basic knitting.

Youtube is fantastic for this. Can't rate it highly enough. Get watching!

Put crochet beanie hat in youtube and you will get lots of choices. You can choose the level as you watch them do it. You can also pause and catch up etc. but it's easier to watch someone else do it than just have a traditional pattern.

How about this which also has a matching infinity scarf?

It's difficult without knowing what weight your yarn is but you can add this as a search criteria on Ravelry.

Thank you for all your replies. I will give youtube a go.
SoupDragon Thanks for the link this looks quite nice.

I'm not sure what weight my wool is as it does not say on the band. It has crossed needles and 9mm 00 written beneath.

9mm probably makes it Super Chunky/Bulky. I'm using a 10mm hook with Super Chunky at the moment.

You can search patterns by hook size on Ravelry too.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone.
I managed to make the scarf and hat by viewing u tube. I even put in 'boucle yarn' and got some patterns for the scarf. I picked up enough information to make a beanie to match the scarf so its a matching set. Smile

Wiksten 'Jul' hat is a nice straightforward knit and is a nice slouchy beanie.
