What would you do with a bucket full of sea-glass?

I know the link says stained glass jewellery, but that's only because sea glass is so hard to come by. She's done some incredible things with it in the past, especially when people give her a collection to use.

I love it! I got the DCs to decorate some picture frames with glass and pieces of pottery we found on the beach and put holiday photos in them. Grouped into different colours.

DD loved all the pink/purple shells and pottery, and teamed them with white frosted glass bits on a pink frame. The boys' ones were more mixed using blue and green glass with other natural coloured shells etc. They're a lovely keepsake.

eeeeek my parents have been collecting it (they live near coast) and have given me a big pot of it! It is dead heavy!

So any more suggestions?

I am tempted to go out and buy a dremel and start putting holes in it for threading and jewellery making etc!

I use it as a "mulch" on the top of my plant pots, both inside and out, then you get to see the colours when its wet.

I found a massive bit of glass in a field near my house (waste from an industrial process a couple of hundred years ago, I was told). I gave it to someone who makes beautiful glass bead jewellery, to melt it down, and make into 'Anglo Saxon' and 'Roman' etc style beads but I saw him a year or two later at a show and he told me he hadn't the heart to melt it down, it was so lovely - so he takes it to talks at schools, etc.

I'd be tempted if it was old and interesting colours, to ask a craftsperson to melt it down and turn it into beads for me!

I made a bowl and it's LOVELY, definitely the favourite thing I made all year and as all the glass came from the same beach it makes it extra special. I followed the instructions in this you tube video:

The "tacky glue" is available from Hobbycraft, they do their own brand which is cheaper. Smaller bits of glass work better than large, use lots of glue and remember that once finished it's not waterproof. Mine took a good week to 10 days to dry out completely.

Drilling it has to be done under water, & with a special bit. It's not easy!!

I often set lone in open bezels so the light still gets through
