Could you knit a tulip for a child with M.E

There is a campaign asking people to knit a tulip for children with M.E, all 25,000 of them in the UK. M.E is a neurological illness that can strike at any age and at its worst leaves people paralysed, unable to talk, tube fed, catheterised, unable to open eyes or bare any light or noise and in agony. A friend of mine was completely bedridden between the ages of 9-13 and during that time was in too much pain to have a hug from her parents. Sadly ME in rare cases can even kill.

If you knit, please consider knitting a tulip

My son has ME/CFS and l have lots of yarn so l will be happy to knit tulips. Just wondering what will be done with them all?

I'm just learning to knit, so it wouldn't be a suitable completed tulip, however, would crochet be acceptable? If so I'd be more than happy to make a bunch to donate. I have a very close friend with ME and know just how awful it is, so would be happy to help.
