It was mentioned in another thread as a way of remembering baby's 1st christmas. Any ideas of what would look good? What would work well?

i bought both my lo a swarovski crystal tree decoration. They bring a new snowflake design out each year and its dated. Quite pricey but thought it was good idea. liked the thought of them having something to keep from the year they were born.

LOL not exactly "classy" but we bought photobaubles from Boots one year. I have a picture of DD in one and DS in the other.

A simple clear glass bauble decorated with relief liner glass paint.

I am starting to make some little personalise tree decorations from scrapping materials. A little frame, pic, in sturdy card, either painted or covered in papers, inked edges & decorated with ribbons, fibres....... Could easily be adapted for 1st Christmas.

Perhaps consider coating with a decoupage varnish or PVA mix to give extra protection.

We got velvety fabric ones from Disney store with the date on and then I cut the letters of their names from felt and stuck them on the back - ds has a stocking and dd a bell shape.

I've seen some clear baubles that open into two halves, you put things inside then snap them back together if you know what I mean. I think I saw them in Abakhan at Holywell Flintshire

Baker Ross do the clear shell ones.

Every year for each boy they choose a decration which gets amrked with their names and the date; when they go they get to tkae them on into the next phase of their life (boo hoo....)

We also last year decorated plain baubles with glitter glue, the purple baubles with gold looked fantastic- we did anmes as stocking fillers

I love the idea of putting things inside a bauble.

I was planning some stuffed felt shapes with gold thread/sequins sewn on for the tree this year, and will do a special one with a space for a picture of dd' s first christmas - to go on after the event obv. Felt is lovely and easy (and cheap!)
