Any sewers here have strong feelings on the best iron? I need something with multiple heat settings, a reasonably long cord, a precise point and that WON'T leak. My current crappy iron is making pressing seams out a total nightmare and it leaks all over the fabric .
Of course I might use it for ironing clothes at some point too but probably not often
I've got a clover mini iron and its Fab for seams on tiny items. I bought it for toy making when I had an obsession with Tilda. I'm not sure it would be any good for large items but then there are different attachments so you may find one that's suitable. Or what about a travel iron. Bigger then a craft iron but compact so might have more of a presission point then a larger iron.
I used to work in various sewing jobs (this was years ago), the best irons I used were really heavy steam generated ones with a massive tanks that never leaked. The weight made them fantastic for ironing in seams and folds etc. I have no idea what make they were though but you could google. Not sure how cheap they were either, but I still like a really heavy iron.
