hello. Wasn't sure whether to post here or in food.
Dd (10) needs to make a small, edible rowing boat. it has to have oars and a figure inside, we are going to use a jelly baby for the figure.
Any tips for making the actual boat, given that we don't have any special moulds. I am hoping we can get creative and fashion some sort of mould out of foil or??

How is your boat going?

hello, thanks for asking, and for your advice.
Well we used a cake pop mould to make a little boat (half of the mould, like a mini easter egg)
initial attempt the chocolate was too thin but second attempt lovely. stuck a red jelly baby in using more melted chocolate as the glue.
Then I spotted some candy sticks in our local shop (formerly known as sweet cigarettes when I was little!) snapped one in half and glued them in with chocolate as oars.
He is wrapped in bubble wrap in a mini tupperware now, in the fridge.
I have asked dd to keep the "recipe" under wraps as one or two of her friends may try to pinch our ideas.

Sounds like you had fun too - which is the best bit

And (bonus) had plenty of leftover jelly babies to share. :)

I will get dd to take a photo (she is asleep now)
