As the title says really! My DSis has started to learn how to crochet and I would like to put together a hamper for Christmas for her so any ideas welcome apart from the obvious wool, a book maybe? Thanks Thanks

I have my heart set on one of these. If you were my sister and bought me one I would be delighted.
Alternatively any of these crochet hooks are my favourites to use as I find they sit so nicely in my hand.
Finally this is my favourite magazine so and copy would be great.

I love Addi Swing hooks, they are about £7 each.
A small bag to carry projects about in.
A pin cushion with some large needles on it for darning in ends
Small sharp scissors
Some really beautiful skeins of yarn
Nice pattern books

I wish you were my dsis

Some stitch markers for crochet in the round. You'd probably find them on Etsy.

A nice little tape measure.

How about one of these for crocheting on the edge of fabric? www.sharpcrochethook.com/order-crochet-hooks.html

This is a really nice book www.amazon.co.uk/Around-Corner-Crochet-Borders-Eckman/dp/1603425381/ref=tmm_pap_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1384791565&sr=8-1&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 as is the Cute & Easy crochet book a PP linked to.

Polymer clay covered crochet hooks on Etsy (I'd tend to buy a 4mm hook)

Stitch markers (again from Etsy) - make sure you get ones for crochet not knitting (knitting ones are closed, crochet ones are/can be opened so you can remove them)

Pretty pair of scissors

Pretty tape measure

Project bag (again, lots on Etsy) - usually hold a ball or two of yarn

Maybe a gift voucher from Black Sheep, Deramores or similar?

I have my crochet in a wicker picnic basket by the sofa so if you could pack it in something like that, it might be useful :)

Thanks thanks for all the great ideas, I have started going through the links and collating a list. Also came across a bargain leather like pouch that can be used as a crochet hook case on the bargain threads for 70p!

FFS. I've now ordered a few of those pouches.
Which lead me to the bargain thread.
Which means I've now spent about £100 without shifting my butt from my seat at the kitchen table.

:o

ooh, could anyone link to the pouch? my hooks are everywhere, need a containment solution that isn't just the walls of the house :o

Pouch. I may sew a fabric cover over the outer part though.

I love pompom makers. A Lucy pack? A rainbow of Rico creative cotton? Depends how much you want to spend really.
