I'm a crocheter. Currently I'm working on:
A very thick brown scarf for DH.
A white and pink 12 point star blanket for fun.
A purple and teal stripey blanket for DD, but I've tied off the yarn and given her it already. I'll finish it sometime in the future.
A yellow and red Babette blanket for DD.
A 'lucy bag' in loads of colours for my sister.

I'd like to make:
A corner to corner blanket.
A poncho or top for my other sister.
Some little toys for DD.

Didn't realise I had quite so many works in progress!

nice list thereJolly

In process

  • our King size quilt
  • 5 small wall hanger quilts, identical design, different colours, will be Christmas gifts, but need a lot of hand stitiching

- 1 garden theme wall-hanger quilt - gift for MIL
- X-stitch birth samples for all our kids (5 boys, 1 girl. eldest is 12, so it feels irrelevant, but I will do them anyway)
- sewing patchwork shopping bags out of cut up jeans

In planning

  • 1 square meter size cot quilt for youngest nephew
  • single quilt for me (with red and white gingham, polka dots and Laura Ashley Bibi fabric)

- sewing more cushion covers for boys
  • sewing some dresses for Dd (next year)

plus about another hundred things from finishing off decorating baby books and making Christmas cards.....

not enough time!

Glad to see its not just me who has a load I crafts on the go. I've been making granny squares for a giant blanket for about 3 years now but have yet to put it together. I've also just started a baby blanket for myself and a crocheted scarf for my nephew. Also have a hand embroidery wedding picture which is a belated anniversary present/memento.

Hoping to start a crochet cupcake scarf for niece soon and make appliquéd tshirts for dhs bday (computer game related characters etc) Grin

"I will finish my works in progress before I buy any more yarn".

I actually said that a few weeks ago. How wrong I was!

I am currently knitting this wrap for me
I am nearly finished and am getting sick of it now tbh!
I am dying to get started on this for baby dd. I made one for her last year and want to do a bigger one this year.
I am only a learner, just started knitting last year when dd was born, so lots I want to make but not enough time to do it!
Have also learnt to crochet and want to do more of that too, but just not enough time in the day.

On the go I've got

2 cot quilts for babies that are due any day, I've done the tops but now I've got to do the actual quilting bit which I'm not very good at interested in and the edging, which drives me to distraction.

3 patchwork pillowcases that I promised dd but I can't be bothered to do the fiddly finishing bits

A cotton granny square blanket which I bought loads of yarn for and then lost interest in got distracted from got overtaken by other projects.

The kids 'birth' cross stich sampler, they are 6 and 4 (glad I'm not the only one with that problem).

A massive sampler for my in laws that I bought on my honeymoon 9 years ago.

Projects that I have fabric/yarn for

A Christmas quilt

Christmas stockings for the dds

A ripple blanket for my godson. My other godson's quilt was delivered a year after the christening

Projects that are a twinkle in my eye:

'Badge' quilts for the dds - the kind that they I can sew their Rainbows/ gymnastics etc badges on to.

Learning to knit cable and socks!

Is there any cure for the chronic non-finisher? At least I'm not a non-starter I suppose Grin

Current projects

Knitting:
Baby blanket for friends DD
Mums birthday scarf
Cat cushion/toy for friends DS
Collar/scarf for MiL

Planned projects:
Knitted penguin toys
Learning to knit in the round for a baby hat and adult hats to match the scarves I've done for people
A knitted scarf, hat and maybe gloves for me.
A knitted blanket for winter snuggles in front of the TV

Planned sewing projects:
A baby quilt for my DD
Christmas tablecloth, runner and napkins (in a gorgeous reindeer batik)
A patchwork batik tablecloth for my friend
A maple leaf design fabric patchwork quilt.

And at some point I'd like to learn to crochet as my MiL is brilliant but I can't get past a simple chain stitch!

In progress (crochet) a rainbow blanket that needs all the loose ends sewing in and (knitting) a hat for my great-nephew.

I have yarn to make 2 woolly hugs and a further 2 hats. I also have yarn to make two angel wraps for the local hospital.

I want to crack knitting with two colours and have found a Nordic design mug cosy to practice on. I have yarn to make these with. If they are a success I will make some for the PTA Christmas fair.

DS has now decided that he likes my home knitted hats again and wants me to make him one - but we need to agree on a colour and buy the yarn. I usually make cardigans for my great nieces for Christmas so must buy the yarn and crack on with those soon.

I bought some paper mâché letters last year to decopatch for Christmas. I hope to get finish them in the next couple of months. I also have some wicker hearts that I want to Christmas-up but need to scour pinterest or google images for inspiration.

WIP: Too many
To Do List: Too full.

I think that sums it up nicely!

I have nearly finished my huge ripple blanket and I feel really sad! It's been a great project to work on over the summer and while I'm pleased it'll be on my bed very soon, I'll miss making it iyswimConfused

On the positive side, my dsis is pregnant again so a new ripple blanket can be born next year.

My mini square blanket is making slow progress, it's very fiddly!

Attic 24's Christmas wreath has been added to my list too. Should probably start soon.....

I only started crocheting last month. But already have a few WIPs...

I'm making a single bed sized blanket, about 1/3 of the way through it, and losing the will to live a bit.

Also a giant chunky granny square for my brother - about 1/2 way through.

A butterfly garland (nearly done).

Granny square cushion cover - 3 more grannies to edge, then need to work out how to put them together!

I really want to make a ripple at some point, and am plotting star garlands as christmas presents - have found a lovely simple star pattern to follow.

Also want to do some fingerless gloves for DH, but not sure how easy they'd be? that would be a good christmas present for him though.

Lots of lovely projects on the go :)

Fowl I had a campfire poncho blanket that I sewed my badges to. It was brilliant for guide camps :)

I completed a WIP this week! So I started another. Now making a snowdrop shawl for myself. I have really leaky boobs and a shawl might give me something to hide wet patches behind until I can get somewhere to change.

That sounds fantastic Giant! I have a really clear idea in my head of what I want to do, but god only knows if I'll get round to it...

Oh dear. Another title for this might be 'things I really want to do but somehow never get around to.

Currently doing: doctor doll for dd (knitted); peg loom phone cases for everything; sampler wall hanging in macrame in various blue shades; various doll clothes in various sizes for dd (knitted, sewing)

Planned (in order of decreasing probability Sad: more wall hangings, brighten up bare rented walls, in macrame and also just sew some fabric and make lots of flowers and animals in crochet to make scenes; a couple cardis for dd and ds, have idea for Shaun sheep cardi; more dolls clothes (love em, little and quick); various amigurami animals for all; Alan dart knitted farm pattern; various e broidery pictures including a folding triptych of sea life that can be opened in various ways or closed (had idea 4 years ago and don't think will ever get round to it); and right out there, a 3 dimensional embroidered garden that I saw a book about once, with maybe a house as well. Do my ideal garden, since i'll never have a real one. I think that'll be a retirement project (I'm almost 40, so one day....)

I like to dabble in lots of techniques, so I can do a lot quite well but I am soooooo sloooow. And have too many distractions.

Currently I have on the needles/hooks:

A waterfall cardigan, in cerise pink King Cole galaxy yarn (with sequins on).

A big, cream tunic-sweater that I am making up as I go along.

Squares for a random, patchwork-style crochet blanket in purple, cerise, rust, lime green, teal, turquoise and sunshine yellow.

Flowers, balls, stars and pompoms for the Attic24 christmas wreath.

Other projects I have got lined up include - a big cardigan, a crocheted baby blanket for a friend (a mumsnetter), several lace scarves, and a scarf in two shades of pink Debbie Bliss Andes, and five - yes that's right - five skirts. And I want to do some quilting and applique, and have the fabrics for that. And for some cushion covers - I made three, but ran out of the backing fabric, and now have some more of it.

I don't think that is all. In fact, looking at my yarn stash, I KNOW that isn't all. Blush

Crochet cushion cover for MIL's 60th birthday
crochet tableware sets/coasters for xmas presents
Knitted socks - one nearly finished
Work in progress granny square blanket
Huge knitted linen bed throw - years in the making

Have my eye on hats and scarves for the winter
Possibly a new thick jumper to ward off the cold

Always practising new techniques and then just unravel them - for me it is the process rather than the final result.

I teach crochet - so need to keep up with new ideas and interesting techniques.
