I am changing the soft furnishings in my bedroom and need some input please.

I have a gorgeous silk wrap that is teal with various coloured embroidered flowers and butterflies on it and that is my inspiration. I was given this Ikea throw as a Christmas present along with a couple of sheepskin rugs. I have these bedside lamps and I am going to get these to go on the lamps and to go on the wall opposite the bed.

I've just found this duvet cover which has the colours of the silk throw in the flowers.

Now my conundrum, I need to find some material so I can make the curtains and I haven't the foggiest what colour/pattern to get and I am going round in circles. The material will have to be fairly thick as the room is south facing. The window is about 8ft bt 8ft and the room is around 25ft long by 15ft wide. I will also be doing some 3D pictures based on butterflies as well. Any ideas for material and where to get it would be gratefully received.

Oh! and I will need to make some cushions for the sofa in the room as well. So do I use the same material as the curtains or something that blends/matches.

I would either stick with a neutral, or pick out a lighter colour in the wrap for the curtains. If you find a fabric that's a little on the light side, you can always compensate with the lining. Abakhan have a few nice and reasonably priced options. No idea where you are, but if you're in the North, Boyes is always worth a look.

I've given up making curtains, btw - every time I've priced up, even in Laura Ashley, it's been cheaper to buy them ready made - they have some lovely plain curtains, btw, if that's what you're after.
