Simple crochet cushion cover?

I'd like to make some nice cushions to go on our sofa. Does anyone have an easy pattern. The Internet is so full of them, I don't know where to start looking!

Granny squares look nice, are very simple and are, er, square already so joining to the right size is easy. I especially like if all the squares have the last round as all one colour. Makes it look finished iykwim?
I've made an attic24 ripple sample into a cushion cover, quick and easy and really colourful.

I was thinking of a plain one - have some nice teal yarn. So maybe I could do different granny squares in the same colour and join them together?

If you did two large granny squares you could join them together, one for each side. If you wanted more variety (and you like stitching things together) you could do 8 or 18 and have 4 or 9 on each side :)

I've never done a granny square, only things in rows or rounds. Do you know of a nice basic one (not 'holey' as DH objects to holes in crochet and it's for him!)?

How about a granny stripe or a ripple?

That is a pattern for a filled in granny square.

All normal granny squares have holes.
