Glasgow Woolly Huggers - who's up for a meet-up?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 06/01/2013 12:31

It's a while since we met up for cake and gossip and coffee and more cake knitting, so it would be nice to have a meet up soon, I think.

The days that seem to work best for people are either Mondays at the Burrell Collection or Wednesdays at the Tramway - so if anyone has any preferences, speak now and we will try to fit in round them.

We are a very friendly group, and it will be lovely to see new faces as well as the old ones, so if you are in the Glasgow area, like knitting and/or crochet, and enjoy blether, coffee and cake - please do come along and join us, when we have set a date, of course.

Mondays or Fridays for me (boo for work)

I might have to pass on cake for some celery as the diet kicks in. But will be there with bells on if I can make it!

Any closer on setting a date? Looks like Monday is the best bet. How about a week on Monday (21st)?

It would be good to catch up.

Burrell was fine last time Smile Wonder if I'll be able to get a low-carb lunch there but I could always bring a packed lunch that meets Boot Camp "rules" Grin

They have a selection of salads, prettybird.

Does 11am suit people?

I have just started crocheting, would that qualify me for meet up even though I'm very much a novice? One of my new year's resolutions is to meet new people and socialise more so I'd love to join you all if that's okay? Date and time suit perfectly Smile .

Of course biff! I only started knitting in February, so I'm very much still a novice too. Don't ask me abut crochet though, pretty and SDTG can whip you into shape though! :)

Excellent, thanks. I only started around October so really am a beginner.

I still can't crochet as I need a left-hander to teach me although Pistey keeps on giving my links to left-handed crochet tutorials

We call this Scottish Woolly Hugs meet-ups - but we tend to natter and eat cake more than we actually knit or crochet! Blush

I did teach HairyPotter how to do cable though [proud]

Report
GlaikitFizzog · 10/01/2013 16:48

Oh yes it was cabling y taught hairy! Not witchcraft crochet!!

It will be lovely to see you, Biff. I will probably be crocheting white granny squares for an Angel Hug - I can do a basic pattern, but I might strike out and try a slightly harder one - though the snowflakes I tried to crochet on Monday were not a huge success. Blush

Daft question, I know, but do we bring our crochet/k sitting etc with us and is this how I will recognise you all a la red rose in lapel Smile .

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 10/01/2013 18:56

Yes to both questions, Biff. I will try to get there a bit early and bag a table with comfy chairs, and I will probably have my huge knitting bag with me (it's easier just to pick it up, lock, stock and barrel, than to try to decide what I don't need).

I will look forward to seeing you there!Smile

Yes to show off I usually don't get much done because I'm running after ds!
