Ideas for Christmas scrap patchwork somethings?

I've got lots of Christmassy fabric scraps and I think could make some lovely little scrappy patchworky somethings, but don't know what the somethings could be! Anyone got any creative ideas?

I was thinking of trying to make some small heart tree decorations, but think that might look awful.

I've been meaning to have a go at these Christmas cards for years. Although these examples are done with sparkly fabric I've seen them done with more traditional red and green Christmas prints and they're very effective

Have you enough to do a table runner?

You could quilt it, but with thin wadding (so that things sit level on it).

I'm doing one for my mum just with diamond shaped patches, and am going to edge it with plain red.

If any of the prints on your fabric have gold in them, you could put a gold tassel at each end too.

No, not enough for a table runner, but maybe a festive quilted placemat centrepiece malarky. Hmmmm.

Those cards look beautiful but far too much like hard work for me atm :o

If you'd prefer a table runner, could you use the scraps you have to make Xmas trees on a plain background? As in, sew a few scraps together then cut a triangle from it for the tree.

Coasters?
Tree skirt?
Stockings?
Decorations for the tree?
Bird to go in a wreath?

I have a few tutorials on my blog that might help:

Ragtime Christmas wreath
Christmas stockings
Christmas tree
Patchwork tree decs
No sew quilted balls - just folding and pinning
Christmas tree strip decorations

I think that these might keep you busy and keep you off the streets :)

Thanks Lady Latte, might have a go at the stars and hearts ones - they're right up my alley

Bollocks. Why did I think a picture of flowers might use the word flowers in brackets? Confused
Thanks

Nope not mine. I just googled to find a picture of what I was thinking of. I saw a stand at a quilt show had done it to make placemats and a Xmas tree skirt and keep meaning to make something like that.

LatteLady - those tutorials are fab. I shall be raiding my stash to make some of those!
