I really need a kick up the backside. I had a craft room full of goodies, although it is just being used as a dumping ground at the moment, but I have no
motivation.

Anyone care to join me on a mojo inspiring quest? PLEASE.

Hi nipervest, good to "see you." Life can still be rather stressful with DD, and a moody, now 13yr old DS who has started his GCSE options early and who does not handle his sister's disability very well does not aid a calm and creative environment!Hmm

I still make the very occasional card and started making a few basic bracelets this summer too. I still have my blog, but it's more waffle than crafting now!

How are you? x

Funnily enough, I am just clearing out all my craft stuff, where it has lingered, gathering dust, for far too long.

When I say "clearing out" I mean moving from one place into a box elsewhere. It is too lovely for me to actually contemplate getting rid of it :)

I think it's a mixture of motivation and discipline. I frequently find myself moaning about not having enough time to do the (craft related) things I want to do, but then when I have time, I'm wasting it on MN! So I try to restrict MN to daytimes, when I have 5 minutes here and there. When DD (14mo) is in bed, I get on with some crafts.

I like reading blogs now and again, it gets me fired up and the creative juices flowing - but I try to limit it, as I think "I could be doing things I love, or I could be reading about OTHER PEOPLE doing things I love." The more time I spend reading blogs, the more frustrated I am, because I just find myself with even more ideas and even less actual craft time.

I like to have a "clear out" of my craft things now and again, very similiar to SoupDragon's clear outs. Nothing leaves the house, it just gets looked at, patted a bit, and adored. It gets tidied up and organised a bit, and also reminds me of projects I had in mind that I'd forgotten about, yarn that I'd forgotten I had (a sure sign that my stash is too big), and renews my motivation and enthusiasm.

Dingle, get your backside in that craft room. Get rid of the step ladders / fishing rods / tins of paint that have been dumped in there. Very quickly you will start to see your craft room come back to it's former glory, and you'll be creating again in no time.

This has me laughing, as last weekend I finally took off the top layer of dumped articles from my sewing/project desk, mended the sewing machine (all it needed was a new needle, but don't tell dd that, or she'll be wanting to use it again!) and I was off away half way through finishing the sewing project at the front of the queue. Guess what - it was bunting! I wanted to get that done by February so I could have home made bunting up for all the Great British festivities this year, but no, mine will be done just in time for Christmas. 2013 probably. Blush
