I am knitting toys for Women's Aid....

would you guys like to help ?

It all started by crocheting some toys for my kids and some for a birthday present

I made these ones itsybitsyspidercrochet.blogspot.com/2009/06/amigurumi-workshop-series-make-cute_26.html although I started off with a different pattern

I saw in the local news online last year Women's Aid requested toys to be sent to the refuge in time for Christmas for mothers and children who were staying there over the festive period. It just really struck a cord with me. I stayed with my friends when I had to leave my ex p and I will be forever grateful to my friends for taking me and my DS in for those months while I sorted myself out.

So I emailed the refuge with a link to some suggestions for toys and they were really enthusiastic and said get in contact when you want to arrange delivery.

So in order to donate toys I am setting up a Stitch & Bitch in my village and organising it through that, I think by getting together and knitting with our own funds and also asking locally for donated wool.

I am also asking all of my knitting and crocheting friends to donate one toy from their own stash from wherever they live.

So I guess what I'm asking is would you like to help ? Either by sending a toy to us, sending some to your local Women's Aid refuge or by donating wool to a knitter or crocheter.

Also if you have done something simillar and have any advice I'd be very grateful for that.

This is a lovely idea, sadly I have no knowledge of how to crochet but will certainly find another item to donate to Woman's Aid this year in time for Christmas!
