Woolly Garlands for Cupoftea's beautiful girls. Knitters and crocheters needed.

You may have been following the progress of Cupoftea?s beautiful daughter, Beatrice Primrose.
This project is to make garlands for Cupoftea?s daughters, to include the flowers in all their names and other lovely things. We would appreciate your help.

The idea is to make some garlands similar to this woolly one.

However, we would like to include the following:

Bees for Beatrice
Primroses
Violets and Daisies for Beatrice?s sisters
Flowers
Any decorative motifs
Triangular bunting that we can stitch crochet motifs onto (size to be confirmed)

If you are a knitter wanting to make bunting, garter stitch is preferable as it will lie flatter.

Unlike the blanket projects, these woolly things can be made from any wool.

I will post more details including sizes and links to patterns shortly.

Please sign up if you?d like to contribute.

I would be happy to make some.

(Hope you got my parcel in the past few days - so sorry for late arrival but just couldn't get to the post office before)

It's a lovely idea, I'll definitely knit some bunting and will try out some flowers.

I'd like to try some flowers. My crochet is probably better than my knitting.

Be happy to donate but can't crochet/knit.

Let me know if I can help with wool for anyone.

My knitting skills aren't as good as many peoples on here but with instructions I can have a go. I've been really touched by this story but not posted for fear of overloading the thread so its nice to have the chance to do something.

I'll check back tomorrow for my marching orders!

'People's' instead sorry! Honestly no excuse!

Put me down to help. I'm more a knitter than a crocheter but i did crochet flowers a few years ago.

I would love to help. Can't go on Bereavement threads though, sorry :( - could someone summarize what happened?

Will dust off my crocheting skills.

What is garter stich? Blush. I would like to do triangles if I can Knots!

Report
MinnieBar · 01/10/2011 07:27

I could knit a triangle if someone has a pattern. Is there a colour preference as I have some lovely teal wool.

Simple crochet flower and leaf patterns here

Tiny crochet hearts here

More little crochet flowers

I'm doing a pattern for crochet bunting at the moment and will post it later.
Someone else is working on the knitted version, also to be posted later.

There are some patterns for bees on Ravelry. Also patterns for knitted and crochet flowers. It's free to join if you aren't a member.

Piste, garter stitch is the basic knit stitch. You can do that one!

Any wool, any colour.

I'm happy to help. Will have to knit as I can't crotchet. I have wool, but will accept more from donors.

I do garter stitch? Me?! I didn't know that's what it was called.

And Knotty I would like to offer my help to sew the crochet and knitting onto bunting tape at the end. Smile

We're going for 5" wide kniited and crochet bunts

Colours and wool: your choice.

I have a collection of odds and ends from the blankets so have blues, greens, purples, lilacs, pinks, creams, silvers. I'm also getting some soft yellow and white for primroses and daisies. The bees will obviously be yellowy but feel free to be creative with your colours choices.

I think we should aim for bright and cheery but avoid 'in your face lary' Smile

So concerned was I to type 'bunt' correctly, I stuffed up 'knitted'. Sorry.

Thanks, I'll get started.
Just to clarify, the bunting is 5" at the top then tapering down into a triangle? Would you also like some rectangular bunting?
