Does anyone know what I could do with tons of thread?

Stopped manufacturing - have lots of unused thread; mainly bulked polyester or bulked nylon which is for overlocking machines; ordinary thread and also some machine embroidery thread.
They are on big cones (3000 or 5000m each) so wouldn't really work with small domestic machines.
The embroidery threads are on small cones - would be suitable for anyone doing machine embroidery.

I can't bear to throw it all out - but can't think of anyone else who could use it?

Does anyone know of any charity or someone who would like to give it a good home?
thanks

Ebay - you never know!

Can you crochet or make lace with it? The only charities I know of need warm woolly stuff I'm afraid but you could make things to sell

Pm me re smaller ones, I might be interested if I can use it on a domestic sewing machine Smile

I've just started a textiles course and am scouring charity shops for exactly that kind of thing, ours all stock things like that - I would say give them to a charity shop, you'll benefit the charity and people like me needing tons of stuff to experiment / play with.

Put it on Ebay, I always buy my thread on ebay and see loads of listings for industrial machine thread. People will buy it, especially if you sell the lot as a job lot.

Definately don't throw it out, that would be a waste of a very valuable resource that people will happily pay for.

If you can't bear the faff of Ebay then give it to a charity shop or list it is gumtree for free.
