Fabric dye for block print?

Unrulysun · 06/12/2010 17:55

A friend bought dd a little print block with her initial on it which I thought I could use to decorate some fabric for bunting. Am very very novicey at all things crafty! Would a normal fabric dye work? It wouldn't need to be washable necessarily. Or is this not going to work?

Any help much appreciated.

I don't think fabric dye will work for you because you need proper fabric printing ink. This one looks OK to use with kids and does not have lots of nasty solvents. This one is also water soluble which makes it easier to clean up after use. You will probably need to buy an ink roller too. Have a look on this website there is a lot of good info.
