I'm awaiting my results from the combined test, which they took my blood for. But after reading a lot about it I've been hearing about unreliable results.
The info given to me before the dating scan was that if the test showed high risk it would be checked by the reflex DNA test.

Is it worth me doing the NIPT test privately? And has anyone else done it? It is very expensive at £400 so I'm just waiting for the NHS test results to come back first.

Also the NT measurement was 2.2mm which is concerning me a bit.

@girlanonymous. The reflex DNA test is NIPT, so don’t go spending money until you have the combined test result. If you get a “low chance” combined test result but still feel anxious you could then consider paying for it but don’t do it now. I would be happy to review and discuss the combined test with you if you like? I am a midwife specialising in screening & fetal medicine.
An NT of 2.2mm is very well within the normal range- why did you feel it was worrying? We get interested and offer additional testing if the NT is 3.5mm, regardless of the combined test result.

@Nanmumandmidwife Thank you so much. Once I get the results I will message you. I appreciate that so much.

Everyone I know who received their results were in the 1.something range. I think mine was the highest so it's freaked me out slightly. I know every baby will be different.

If you can afford it, do it. Massive reassurance.
