Nuchal measurements.. help?

Hi,

Can anyone help please?

Had a 12 week scan today. Nuchal measurement was 3.0. Baby head to rump (CRL) was 63.9. I am 33 (second baby).

We're awaiting the blood results for the Down's syndrome test.

Does anyone know the likelihood of chromosomal issues with these stats? Any thoughts are very much welcomed.

Thanks!

3mm nuchal is just over the range, by 0.1mm. At 33, there may be slight increased risk of heightened downs blood results, but have you considered a NIPT?
Did they spot anything else that may indicate any issues?
I wouldn’t be too alarmed with the nuchal measurement alone at this stage.

My baby had a 5.3mm nuchal, unfortunately he had downs, but he didn’t have a full nasal bone amongst other issues as well. My results were 1:19 for downs and I was 27 at the time.

Wish you luck OP and keep my fingers crossed that all is well.

Thankyou so much for your reply, very much appreciated.

Nothing else untoward was shared by the sonographer. So fingers crossed, will await the test results before considering next steps.

I thought up to 3.5mm was considered normal? That's what I was told by the sonographer at my scan just a few weeks ago.

From research, it seems that NT readings are not absolute. But that risks increase from 2.5-3.5, and then markedly so thereafter.

I've always been told that anything 3.5 and under is normal. Hopefully you get the blood tests back soon to put you at ease

Although in my trust they only contact you if it's an issue if not it's a 2-4 week wait for the letter with results so no news is good news!

Hi, I was 35 when pregnant with dd1. My nt reading was high. Think it was 4.2. Bloods came back as 1:5 for downs. We were terrified.

Did the harmony test immediately and results came back 1:10,000

Dd was born with no issues.

Highly recommend getting a nipty test
