Repeat Booking Apt Blood Tests

Hi I'm new here. I had my booking appointment a week and 2 days ago and have just had a letter through saying that I needed to have some bloods repeated and to call my doctor's to discuss the results which had been sent through in case I needed a prescription. As it's Saturday I can't get through to anyone and am having a complete meltdown thinking of the worst possible case.

If it was something serious would the have called me?

Thanks

I had this multiple times. Never turned into anything serious. Sending hugs!

It's the whole prescription thing that's scaring me. I'm working on Monday and am terrified that when I call the doctor they wont tell me over the phone and will ask me to come in which will make me panic even more 😭

If it makes you feel better I had exactly the same and it was a uti. I just needed antibiotics.

Thank you. I know I'm likely being overdramatic. Every time I manage to settle myself back down I think of something else and start flapping again 🙈. Just wish they had sent it over either yesterday or waited until Monday.

I had the same and it was also a uti, it cleared up fine with the antibiotics.

I also had an ominous sounding phone call!

Hi Alyosha. Can they detect a UTI from bloods? Reading the letter properly they've ordered a repeat FBC and told me to contact the doctor's to see if I require a prescription. Having had an entire 24 hours to calm down and talk sense into myself I'm assuming I'm probably anaemic (I'd place bets on it if I could) as I've always been a fussy eater but since about five weeks have lived off carb, cheese, fruit and milk as the idea of meat (even my usual favourite gammon) makes me heave. Do you think they would order w complete FBC just for anaemia? Our doctors has an open surgery on Mondays so going to pop along first thing and hope I can get an early appt as we're moving house tomorrow as well. Properly piling on the stress here 😌

Just an update, saw doctor this morning. Bloods had clotted for FBC before they could take test them. Everything else came back fine. Doctor wasn't impressed with the fact they had sent such a letter which could cause panic of a weekend and has taken a copy to follow it up with the lab. Just thought I'd update for anyone in future panicking 😁
