On Wednesday we went for our first scan at just under 13 weeks, It is our first baby. It the worst experience of our lives to date the sonographer had a quick look briefly explained the baby's head was not as developed as would be expected at this point and referred us for a consultant scan, which happened this morning. Baby was diagnosed with Acrania and advised that baby would not survive. We are obviously devastated and have been offered a medical termination as this would be most natural and the best in regards to trying again in the near future. I am not really writing this for advise more for just general support and to hear other story's if our story helps others experiencing the same trauma I will rest easier.
Thanks all the story's i have already read have helped me just in that we are not alone.

I have no experience with this I'm afraid, but I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry you've had this news. Hopefully someone who knows about this can chat with you. Hugs xx

Hi, I'm so sorry you are going through this. I have no experience of acrania but I lost a baby at 16 weeks and it was devastating. He had chromosomal abnormalities and died in the womb and I had medical management to have him. My heart goes out to you. I don't know what stage you are at today but you must still be in shock. Hope you're ok xx

I hope your holding up okay, my baby had anencephaly which was discovered at our 12 week(ish) scan at the end of January and I also had a medical termination. There's really nothing that can make it any easier but I'm more than happy to chat if you have any questions or just want someone to talk to who had been in a similar position. Really hope your okay xx
