I know there will be ethical opinions on this but I am just trying to gage peoples experiences for accuracy.

I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and
considering the blood test that claims 95% accuracy for fetal sex determination. However Ive seen mixed reviews on peoples experiences.

The uk labs that im looking at claim to be
accredited by UK Ministry of Justice and ISO 17025 (ibdna.com international biosciences)

I know results may be affected by recent miscarriages etc which may count for some peoples wrong results...but then some people are of the opinion that these labs just take money and play on the 50% chance they will be right! Surely they cant do this...though nothing in this world surprises me.

Anybody have any experiences to help me decide if its reliable or not?

I had a Harmony test which takes DNA from baby from your blood. I was was given the sex a few days later, i also had this confirmed with a private gender scan at 16 weeks and again at my usual 20 week scan.

Not sure if thats the kind of answer ur looking for.

Thanks sweetchilli.

I know about the Harmony test and am considering it (not just for gender) but its just the cost Id struggle with.

I had harmony as came back 1in5 for downs, the gender i suppose was an added bonus. Extremely accurate though.

I also found out from Harmony. My understanding was that gender was an easy one to check via bloods and you either have Y chromosomes from the baby in your blood sample or not ..

Ive decided to go for the Harmony. Well, a different brand but same concept, its the Serenity test via "this is my" private clinic in Manchester.

Does anyone have any experience of how quickly the results are processed? They say 3-5 working days... hoping for the 3! Though its still a great turnaround time anyway.

Mine was also Manchester based. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was telephoned the next Wednesday afternoon. She also emailed me results once speaking to me on the phone. So really it was 3 working days for me.
