Feeling v anxious about CVS results and heart scan this week

Two weeks ago today we had bad news that our baby had an NT of 4mm along with poor blood results and a single artery umbilical cord. The dr was very thorough in the scan and couldn't detect any physical soft markers of Downs. We had the CVS test and was lucky to get the all clear from the initial results.

I'm feeling very anxious now about the heart scan tomorrow and the full CVS tests which are due back this week. Especially as I had a small bleed this weekend - all seems fine now and they couldn't see where the bleed was from. Everything feels very fragile.

I've read lots of positive stories on here but I've had horrid experiences with friends who have lost babies late in their pregnancies. I'd love to hear from someone with a similar story. The waiting is awful.

DS2's NT result were very bad when they combined them with the blood test and I had 1:49 chance of severe genetic disorder from Down to De Lange and so many others. I did an amniocentesis. The first results came back very quickly with good news and soon after, the final results gave an all clear. Ds2 is now 10 and absolutely fine.

It is normal to worry, but medicine is now so advanced, many many conditions even heart condition can be successfully addressed.

Fingers crossed for you

Thank you. Actually had the CVS results emailed through tonight and all normal so just the scan tomorrow. Thanks for sharing your positive story.

I have been thinking about you (all the way from Australia!) . So how did the heart scan go?

Coming late to your thread but also wondering how your heat scan went. We had a heart scan on our baby due to high NT measurement and he/she has TGA scary but correctable by surgery.

Hope everything was ok?

Sorry, only just seen your responses.

The cardiologist at Kings was great. She couldn't identify any major issues at this stage. Apparently the heart is the size of a grain of rice at 14 weeks! Amazing what they can see.

I have been referred for another heart scan at 20 weeks but have been told that things they could potentially identify at this stage can be fixed or may not need surgery.

All good news and now the big wait for the next scan one month today. Still panicking but trying to keep busy so my anxiety levels are not ridiculous. Just hoping we are one of the lucky ones. I can't even think of having to make a horrid decision so far into the pregnancy especially as my tummy is growing.

Thank you for thinking of me ❤️

Hello NotRicksWife, I went to Kings FMC early October, risks for T21 was 1/85 and T13/18 was 1/78. We did the CVS and the initial results came back clear and today I chased the full results and they too are ok.

We have an extra scan booked in when we have our 20 week scan to check on the babies heart. Our original markers were 3.4mm NT and low PAPPa and low HCG free. I've seen my sister in laws bloods and hers were very similar to mine but her NT was much lower so her stats were something like 1/5000.

Just wanted to say hi as it it looks like we have had similar experience at the same time at the same place.

I feel that now the full CVS results are back everything else is going to be similar to any other pregnancy so I'm trying to be calm....easier said than done of course!

Please let me know how you get on Sarah. Of course, I hope it is all okay. I just feel grateful that I've been able to have tests at Kings and the FMC, feels like I'm doing the best that I can for now.

Thinking of you.

Will do, please let me know how you get on too. Yes they are the leading place to go so I trusted them with the CVS even though after I was very nervous!
