The wait following amnio

Ive just had an amnio done as both myself and dh are carriers for a genetic condition.
We now have a 2-3 week wait for the results of the full karyotype tests.
I am grateful that we are even able to have this testing but it doesnt make the wait any better. Hoping results will come sooner rather than later!

Hi Winnie, I had a CVS at 13 weeks so can empathise with you re the wait. Although our initial results came back clear, we couldn't really relax until we'd had the full results 2 weeks later. We got ours back just under 2 weeks later so fingers crossed the same happens for you.

Best of luck Smile

We are the same, carriers of a genetic condition but we are testing by cvs. We also have to wait 2 weeks, it's really hard waiting.

We went for a cvs but they weren't able to do it as my womb tilts backward and my bowel/bladder in the way. That was 2 weeks ago so we could have potentially had results back already!

That happened to me too Winnie the first time we tried. Luckily everything was out of the way when we went back a few days later but all I could think about was the days we had lost. It will feel like a long wait. Try and keep busy!x

We got our results today and all is good news WinkSmileGrin. The baby is a carrier but not affected by the syndrome. What a relief! I'm really surprised that the results came back so quickly in comparison to my expectations. Happy Monday!!
