How long do stitches take to dissolve?

I had my baby boy 8 days ago and I had to have 6 stitches..
But I feel like the midwife butchered me and I can really feel where they are and they feel so tight. Whenever a pad rubs up against them it really irritates. But I'm too embarrassed for my midwife to look 😳 but I'm sure they're fine.
Just when will it feel better? 😵

Mine took about 2 weeks.
Did they tell you to sit in the bath twice a day? Helps stitches soften and disolve.
