Will I ever get over my PND

Hi, I'm new to mumsnet so not sure what I'm doing😂....... I was diagnosed with PND about 5 months ago now when my lo was 9 months old, since then I've been on antidepressants which I stopped taking after 2 month as didn't like how they made me feel so I decided to find a counsellor instead. I've found this has helped slightly but every time I start to feel a bit better I suddenly spiral back to where I started, is this normal? Has anyone experienced PND and got over it? If so how do you know when you're over it? I go through phases of feeling anxious, paranoid, lonely and like there's no way out and not sure if this is part of my life now or if I'm still struggling with PND? Any help will be gratefully received, thanks.

My personal experiences is that the drugs help. You might not have been in the right ones at first but you need to give them 6 months to do their thing. I mean a few weeks to work and then 6 months on an even keel before coming off then.
I wouldn't say the spirals are what is accepted in pnd and I think you may need some more help.
It's tough, but you'll get there. I promise kxx

You will get better. I never believed this when people insisted it was true but they were right.

The drugs were the only magic bullet for me.
Fluoxetine agreed with me. The dry mouth and insomnia were a cake walk by comparison with living in a black hole. Other than those side effects, it was great!

Change your antiD. Find one that agrees with/for you.

Citalopram for me. It isn’t a quick fix but it’s a longer term fix. I did CBT and drugs. I think my personality is more prone to anxiety and depression so I think I have a low bar for PND. I would advise go back to GP and explain.. try another drug. Don’t make it harder on yoursrlf

You need to drugs to fix the chemical imbalance. Talking therapies need to be seen as an additional.
