Taking 5htp whilst pregnant?

I usually take a 5htp tablet daily to manage my moods as a sort of low level over the counter AD. However am now PG and worrying that I can't take it. I had ante and PND with last DC and month into pregnancy, feeling low again already. Has anyone else taken 5htp when pregnant?

I was taking St. John's wort and have been advised not to take it. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and I'm so so depressed right now that I'm struggling to function. I just wish there was more evidence of these types of pills during pregnancy but there's not so my doctor advised against it. Guess I will just have to be miserable! X
