Well here it is and I think we all deserve a huge CONGRATULATIONS for making it onto the 2nd thread.

The last thread lasted us a month and a half so here to one thread down and 5 to go!!!

YIPPEE so excited!!!

I've also noticed the Due in Jan thread has 10 posts on it now so we are officially not the newbies anymore YEAH !!!!

george32 Fri 29-Apr-05 11:42:51

Hurrah - new thread!!!

(Hmmm, think you'll find that some of the posts are mine on Jan!! Thought CordeliaP looked a bit lonely so went across to give a bit of support!)

We have all done well. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow so only another 3 and I'll relax a bit more.
Just had to get a packet of crisps, couldn't last until lunchtime..... when I need to eat has changed, the urgency has returned that I remember from last time. It was my 3rd packet this week and I never normally eat them (unless I'm drinking , so sadly that's not the reason

sweetheart Fri 29-Apr-05 11:57:03

george Oh well - at least she's not alone over there any more. I'm sure it will fill up in no time!!!

Scully I've been eating about 2 packets of crisps a day!!! I normally don't touch them but I get so hungry that I've got a stash of them in my office draw.

I'm finding I need to eat about 10am - which in turn ruins my lunch. And then again at about 3.30pm - which ruins my tea.

hi all
been out to tots this morning and sat there feeling decidedly green..yuk.Am just waiting for my tescos shopping to be delivered and not doing a lot else...

SH i felt the same once i saw a due in jan thread its like ..wow we are progressing..baby show is a good idea but london is just too far for me and oct is ds bday so need all the pennies i have..lol he will be 2 this yr boo hoo..lol Anyway technically the only new things i need to buy are a wardrobe and a double buggy.

George i would book a scan for in 2 weeks cos if u know ur 4+ 6 then u have a good chance of seeing hearbeat etc if ur near 7 wks.

scully i have that hunger where i just feel insatiable but then 5mins later feel soooo ill...nightmare

scully Fri 29-Apr-05 13:47:55

I'm having the odd wave of nausua but nothing specific triggering it. And the feeling of when I'm hungry, needing to eat straight away. But I wasn't horrendously ill with dd so hopefully will be the same this time.
And the cause of all this - apparently at 7 weeks the foetus is the size of a small grape

NotTellingYet Fri 29-Apr-05 13:49:48

I don't really need to buy much either - but I might go to the Birmingham one (as it's just up the road from me) if I can get some free tickets from somewhere.

Went shopping at lunchtime today - but couldn't decide if I'd actually get to wear any "normal" summer clothes or if I'll need to be buying maternity stuff by then? Don't really want to have to buy two lots, so ended up not getting anything except some shoes to go with the will-it-fit-or-won't-it outfit for the wedding.

I know what you all mean about the being hungry - and it isn't my normal food I want. Usually I only eat fruit during the day, but for some reason I want cheese biscuits (or even cheese AND biscuits) at the moment.

scully Fri 29-Apr-05 13:54:28

I'm thinking maternity stuff by the time summer ever arrives......I remember not fitting into trousers before we'd even told people last time! Didn't know about Ebay 3yrs ago but will definitely be making use of it this time, for any extra clothes I need, especially as the last pregnancy was through winter and this one is through summer.
I don't need to buy much baby stuff either, just need to get back all my stuff that's been loaned out!

Nemo1977 Fri 29-Apr-05 13:55:26

im lucky with clothes as I stil have the ones i wore thru my pregnancy with Ds and he was an oct baby so was also pg over the summer...

NotTellingYet Fri 29-Apr-05 14:00:52

Hope we're not the same size Scully - 'cos Ebay is my plan too!

george32 Fri 29-Apr-05 14:16:19

I've already been out & bought a HUGE pair of jeans as I can't fit into anything I own!! (Thank god it's casual at work!!)

Been out shopping & now I'm knackered. I did manage to get myself some salt & vinegar hula hoops though - I've been thinking about them since yesterday!! Hope they don't have the same effect on me that Kangels chips did on her.

Anyone know if tender nipples is a sign of p/g? It's terrible, but I'm willing myself to feel some symptoms other than tiredness. Keep feeling a little sick but then I think I could be imagining it!

dramaqueen72 Fri 29-Apr-05 14:48:11

ooh ladies, new thread! exciting!
been feeling really rough last few mornings and then again evenings. it is better if i can eat the 'right' thing but just dont fancy anything, and have to force myself.
sweetheart, good news so far with the scan then? how great, melanie, sorry no idea about blood clots in pg, suggest google it and read with pinch of salt everything it turns up?
george, v confused over your dates....if youre sure your so far back you MUST get a scan to redate it, or the midwives and such will keep getting poor measurements and be worrying you for no reason. wait til you are approx six+3, six and a half is a nice time to be able to see most babies heart beats.
I've been thinking about our maternity clothes need, you realise we will need both winter and summer clothes???????? i have got a couple of those 'floaty' tunic tops for now, still in my ONE pair of 'one size up' jeans. (I am starting to hate them!!!!!!!!)mind you learnt last time, that you need some of this 'not usual size/not maternity' clothes for after birth for a while,

been shopping this morning for FOUR hours, absolutely shattered. need dads birthday gift but hes not an easy soul to buy for, also best friends birthday in few days and its my dhs TODAY, so basically spent entire months money on birthdays!!! aghhh! anyhow must go rest before school run, as cant shop like i used to........

NotTellingYet Fri 29-Apr-05 15:50:41

Aargh - have just got off the phone to the surgery. Seems I can't even get a booking in appointment with the midwife until AT LEAST 6th June (by which time will be 11+3) - there are no appointments available before then, and they're not making any yet for then until a week on Monday. Only once I've managed to get an appointment will they put the process of arranging scans into place. Which is a bit late considering they reckon to do first scan between 10 and 12 weeks!

Those of you who've had private scans - can you just go to them direct, or do you already have to have seen your doctor/midwife?

NotTellingYet Fri 29-Apr-05 15:53:30

Oops PG brain kicking in - that's 12+3, not 11+3! Which only makes it worse.

expatinscotland Fri 29-Apr-05 15:53:55

NTY,
I just rang them directly for mine. I used 'Healthcare Plus' a chain of private GPs.

NotTellingYet Fri 29-Apr-05 16:08:35

I've just found out that there's a private scan place about 2 miles from my house. And it's only £40 for a dating/viability scan, which isn't too bad. Another £140 for the 10-12 week one including the nuchal fold and blood tests though. So expensive, but not disastrous if the NHS backlog turns out to be so big that they can't help us. I could be tempted at £40 to have the early scan anyway I think - they do it from 8 weeks so it could be only a week away.

Nemo1977 Fri 29-Apr-05 16:13:29

nty i would book ur own scan as that seems a awful long time to wait. Even tho i am moaning about no early scan at least i have a scan on 2nd june booked.

Sorry to be dim but where did u get the numbers or website? to find where ur local scanning office is?

NotTellingYet Fri 29-Apr-05 16:18:24

Nemo - I just googled it (private antenatal scan uk), and found this one near me , and this not much further away .

Nemo1977 Fri 29-Apr-05 16:24:21

I cant seem to find one in liverpool

Beckymumof3 Fri 29-Apr-05 16:44:11

Hi, I phoned the local bupa hospital and it was high (£140?) and had to be gp referred. I won't have any appointment til i'm about 11 weeks either which I still can't believe... Anyone else considering a homebirth?

Relieved to say that my 'morning sickness' turned out to be a stomach bug and I am back to normal 'mildish nausea' now - THANK GOD - I really pity anyone who is vomiting their guts up every day for so long...poor things.

Is it my imagination or are there less people on this thread now?

NotTellingYet Fri 29-Apr-05 16:44:25

Nemo - I found one in Manchester - is that near enough?

expressmummy Fri 29-Apr-05 20:56:54

hi all
scully i know how you feel im hungry all the time and feel really sick until i eat something my boobs are hurting on and off all day and im not sure if im imaging it but my belly has started to get harder and im only 5 weeks has antone else has this????????

Nemo1977 Fri 29-Apr-05 21:14:26

NTY thanks for that hun its not too far.If i have no luck with midwife on 10th may then will tlak to DH about private scan.

babygibbon Fri 29-Apr-05 21:18:41

Beckymumof3, just to let you know I'm still here but don't have anything to add. I don't have any symptoms really - very mild nausea at the moment, but nothing else.

Is anyone else having problems with their parents and partners? I told my mum last night (I was going to wait, but MIL is visiting this weekend and DH wants to tell her, so I told my mum too). Anyway, the first thing she said was "oh dear, was it an accident?" (because DD is only 10 months old). I told her in no uncertain terms that it wasn't, and then she told me not to tell anyone else because I could have a miscarriage. And she kept going on about how she was worried I wouldn't cope. Talk about making me feel down. Anyway, tough. I'm happy about it.

To add to this, DH has decided that December is a terrible time to have a baby (his list of worries include: think of it's birthday, it won't get as many pressies and it's going to be the same star sign as his step father who he doesn't get on with etc.). I feel like I'm swimming against the tide at the moment. Everyone was so happy when I was pregnant with DD, and I worry that this baby will always be second best.

Oh that helps, much better to get it off my chest Thanks for listening...

Congrats to all those who have had scans, and good luck to those with them coming up.

expressmummy Fri 29-Apr-05 21:25:04

bg im so sorry to hear that you have had bad reactions as long as you are happy to be pg then thats all that matters and your children will be close enough to be best friends as well as siblings
